Sidewired App — Privacy

The short version

Everything stays on your device. We never see it.

The Sidewired app uses what we call Amnesia Architecture. Your conversations, your communication profile, your check-ins — none of it leaves your phone. There are no Sidewired servers involved in your AI interactions, no accounts, and no cloud sync.

How the AI works

The app uses Gemini, Google's AI. To use the AI features, you provide your own Gemini API key in the app settings. When you send a message:

• —Your message goes directly from your device to Google's Gemini API using your own key
• —The response comes back directly to your device
• —Sidewired's servers are not involved at any point

Google's handling of your API calls is governed by Google's AI terms. By default, Google does not use API calls to train its models.

The Talk feature (Research Mode)

The Talk screen, when Research Mode is enabled, routes your conversation through Sidewired's backend. This allows the AI to search the Sidewired Intelligence Vault — our neurodivergent research library — to give you more informed answers.

When this happens:

• —Your message is sent to Sidewired's backend to retrieve relevant research
• —It is not stored — it is used only to perform the search and is discarded immediately after
• —Research Mode is opt-in. You can use Talk without it, in which case your message never touches our servers

Your communication profile

The app builds a communication profile over time — your preferences, patterns, and any signals you've shared. This data is stored entirely on your device using local storage. It is never uploaded to Sidewired or any third party.

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

What Sidewired never does

• —We do not collect your conversations
• —We do not build a profile on you
• —We do not require an account
• —We do not use your data to train AI models
• —We do not sell or share your data
• —We do not use analytics SDKs that track your behaviour in the app

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your data is on your device — you control it entirely.
